I'm speaking for all Xlibris Writers when I say this: I feel that, with us authors who write the manuscript and edit the work, we have done the fast majority of the labor. Yes, you have employees too that need to get paid as well for putting the books together.
So, what I suggest, is if someone like myself is starting out selling books. For example: As a beginner Author, I can handle getting paid at: E-book,( I can accept 10%.) Amazon, Xlbris company, and Barns and Noble. The Soft cover starts off at 25%. For the first six months, this would mean I would have to sell, 10-30 books then the percentage goes up to maybe 35%.
When the six months is over. Then six months to a year say, 30-70 or more books gets soled, then that would be 40- 55%. That way both sides would be paid, it may not be a 100% equal, but I can comprise to this.
At least I feel I can get my moneys worth. This would help a lot to promote our books too.
